Praise God…because of a few businessmen that understand they can reach young people through media, Groundwire begins airing on two new mainstream stations today.
95sx in Charleston, SC and Kilo in Colorado Springs.
Messages of hope will now be sandwiched in between hopelessness, sensuality, and despair. The light will shine in the darkness and we know that it will make a difference.
“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it”. Isaiah 55:11.
Praise God…His Word will impact lives.
As a matter fact while I was writing this someone in the office just finished praying with a young girl online who was coming back to Jesus. Go God.

Yesterday while hanging out with Eric and Copellia on the Air1 morning show, I had a first time experience. Someone called in and challenged me to a Cricket spitting contest. Hmmmmmmm…
Didn’t quite know what to make of that one. He told me that to get good distance you have to train your cricket to jump off your tongue just as you are spitting.
And, he said that if you let the crickets eat nothing but apples, they will taste like fruit when you load them.
Interesting stuff, just thought I would share some strange and obscure ramblings.

Right now, I am in Sonora, California. I came as at the request of Peter Boklund who is a high school senior.
To graduate he needed to do a senior project aimed at helping the community. Peter thought “what could help the community more than the gospel of Christ.” So, I am here to present Jesus 3 different times throughout the week. Not only did Peter choose to bring me in, but he raised the money to pay for my expenses to get here. And, he got money from some unexpected places. The local casino actually contributed to the cause. Isn’t that awesome? The local casino gave money so the the gospel can be preached. I love it.
Well, Peter, you are truly an aggressive and passionate young man and an inspiration to me. Keep up the good work.

For decades, the church has worked to minimize the impact that the entertainment industry is having on our young people. Instead of running from it, I believe we should use it to share the most compelling message of all time. I believe it is time we redeem it…..

Well for those who think that romanticize travel and comment jealously that I get to see fun places and enjoy the exotic surroundings, this is not the day to trade places. So far, I have been in the Tampa airport for 7 hours and won’t leave for another 3. What a way to spend a day. So, those who envy my lifestyle, understand it isn’t all fun and games.
I am not complaining though, I love my life and really enjoy what the Lord has called me to do. God blessed me with an amazing wife and great kids. And, I love what God is doing through Groundwire and just thrilled to be a part of it. I know that it is God who is opening these doors and touching lives. He could have chosen hundreds of people to do what he is doing, but I am amazed that he chose me.
So…anyway, my trip. I got to Charleston, SC on Sunday. Hung out with my friends Kevin and Betsy Kalman (along with their son Bobby) for a couple of days. With there help, we are working to place the GW spots on the top station there.
On Tuesday, I came to Tampa. Meetings. Had the opportunity to spend the evening with Bob and Karen Gaiser. They summer in Colorado and winter in St. Petersburg. What a set-up. They live on the 11th floor of a building that overlooks the gulf coast. Beautiful view. After a wonderful dinner I drifted off to sleep to the sound of the lapping waves.
Although I have spent several hours in the airport, it has been productive. Got around to some work that I have needed to do. Spent some time putting a skeleton on some devotional books I am working on with a publisher. Really excited about the opportunity to put out some 90-day spiritual helps. Pray that we put together daily readings that will challenge and encourage the reader. Oh, and if you have any specific questions you would like us to address in these books let me know.
Lastly, I am excited about taking Michael (5) on a trip to Spokane, WA this weekend. He is pretty pumped and I can’t wait to have him all to myself for a few days.
Hope all is well. Stay close to Jesus,

Miranda (13) had her birthday party at a hotel this weekend with some friends, so I had the privilege of hanging with my boys. Last night we went to Casa Bonita, a Denver highlight. Not the best food in the world, but definitely a fun place to visit with wide-eyed and excitable little men. The only restaurant that I have ever been in that has cliff divers (the place is large enough to have a three story cliff and waterfall).
This morning after they cleaned the room (sometimes you have to bribe them with incentives), we went to see a movie.
Throughout the weekend, it was fun to be with them. It was fun to do special things for them (tokens for the arcade last night, pop and candy at the movie). It reminded me of how much God must enjoy just being with us. He loves it when we take time out of our day to recognize His presence. When we slow down enough to notice the blessings his is providing. Just like my father’s heart enjoys doing daddy things, God’s heart does as well.
He loves being around you and me…and he loves providing the little surprises in our day that make us smile. He is an awesome dad.

Recently I am being challenged with the following scripture.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,* who* have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.
I have had this scripture locked away in my brain for quite some time, but am just now pondering how that really works. “All things” work together for good. Wow…kinda hard to swallow if you have had major tragedy in your life. Difficult to accept if there are areas of challenge.
I know it is true because I believe God’s Word to be flawless, but wonder if my perception of what is best isn’t limited by personal convenience. Ultimately, is that really God’s goal for my life. That I be happy, excited, comfortable, and content. Or, could this scripture challenge that idea.
No, I think that some of the things that happen in our lives occur because God sees something that we do not yet see. He allows things to step out of our definition of “wonderful” in order that we might become stronger, have more faith, become less about ourselves and more about others, or perhaps to teach us something that we would not be able to understand unless we discover it in the classroom of difficulty.
I am grappling with this topic personally, not because I am struggling. I am actually in a great place in life and appreciate the current expression of what seems to be “all things working for good” at this time. But, I am asking the question to determine how would I respond if things were not so perfect. And, I have been trying to discover answers here because I want to share them with those going through personal Job experiences or that are passing through the valley of the shadow of death.
Ultimately, I don’t have any answers other than to say that it is true. If you love God and have surrendered to Him, then you can bank on it. He will make ALL THINGS work together for your good.
You might not understand it right now. You might have more questions than answers. You might be in a heap of trouble or your might be falsely accused. But, God is there, working in your situation. And, He is painting a silver lining.
Rest assured, that even if you don’t understand how it works, this spiritual principle will not fail.
Look up…
