Got called “Gov” by the cab driver. Very fun.

Well, the meeting went well today and we are looking at getting the spots aired on a couple of London stations. We can reach over 2,000,000 pretty quickly, so looking forward to seeing that come to pass. England is a different place regarding the radio. All of our scripts would have to be approved by the governing board (RACC), but we have been temporarily approved. They also are not willing to allow our spots to air during drive time as there are too many influential children in the car. They don’t want to influence them towards faith. Seems to me that is when faith, morals, and values should be instilled. If you don’t get them when they are young, you might never get them.

Speaking of England and the UK, less than 5% would claim to have a personal relationship with Jesus. That should be a matter of prayer and action, but unfortunately, because conversions come easier in third world countries, most of the missions focus heads over there. Actually, of the 10,000,000 new Christians in the world in the last 10 years, less than 5% have come from the US, UK, Europe, and the developed countries of the western world. Sounds like there is work to be done.

Earl and I met with Terry Bennet today of Christian Voice. Great guy who absolutely loves the Lord. One of those guys who teared up as he was sharing how he came to know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. And, he gets fired up when talking about the things that the Lord is doing in the world. One of those guys who challenges you with his passion as well as his convictions. I look forward to getting to know him more.

After the meeting Pastor Earl and I went down and rode the London Eye. It is a huge Ferris Wheel that sits alongside the Thames River. Goes high above all of the sites and the city. Very cool.

Tomorrow, we head to Kenya. Another long day in a plane. Please pray that we would be safe and that the Lord would use us to speak truth to a disheartened people. Through the violence, crime, and lawlessness that they are facing in their country, God wants to speak hope, healing, and peace.

Can’t wait to tell you in a couple of days how it is going.

Well, Pastor Earl and I are in London.

With only two hours of sleep in the past 32 hours, I am tired and ready to sleep, but wanted to check in first.

This evening we received a driving tour from Kris, a local businessman who took some time out to show us around and grab dinner with us. London is a beautiful city, although the roads are confusing. Kris’ car has a navigation unit that he calls “Nelly”. And, even Nelly was confused. She sent us down dark alleys and ran us in circles on more than one occasion. After driving past Big Ben, West Minster Abbey (where Princess Di got married), the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, billboards for Fox’s show ‘Lost’, and The Vatican (I know…wrong city), we were tired and hungry.

We grabbed dinner at a very swanky Italian Restaurant called “ASK”. Good stuff. Yum!

Well, the reason we stopped in London on the way to Kenya was for a couple of meetings about getting the radio spots on the air in the UK. The main meeting is tomorrow. I am praying (and expecting that it will) that it goes well.

Talk to you soon. Maybe be able to add some pictures tomorrow.

There is an incredible story in scripture found in Judges 19-21. This passage has all of the elements of a crazy action movie that doesn’t have to make sense for it to be engaging. But, the difference is this story is an historical narrative of actual people that bled and died.

I won’t take time to tell you the entire story…but I encourage you to go check it out. Read it. But read it slow enough that you picture what is happening. Don’t miss the subplots.

This story begins and ends with the same sentence. “In those days Israel had no King; everyone did as he saw fit.”

Because there was no one in charge…because everyone did whatever they wanted confusion broke out. People died. Regret reigned.

Because there was not king:

1) there was chaos.
2) Wounded people were wounding others.
3) Everyone was trying to win and no one did.

Although I have shared this passage before and talked about the ramifications (did it a couple of weeks ago at a youth retreat in Indiana and one of the youth pastors thought I was making up the story because it was so bizarre…I am not lying, you gotta to check it out), I am not bring this to your attention because I want to preach at you. This is very relevant to my life.

I leave in a few days to go to Kenya. A land that right now is tearing itself apart because an election went bad. Although there is a President in office, few are recognizing his authority. In effect…there is no king and everyone is doing whatever they want.

That is why:

1) there is chaos. Lawlessness is reigning. Homes are burning. The streets are filled with anarchy.
2) Wounded people are wounding others. Violence is on the rise as is death.
3) and everyone is trying to win but no one is.

So, that is on my heart. And, I ask you to pray with me about it. Pray for the people of Kenya. Pray for its leaders. Ask the Lord to bring peace, to halt the chaos, and to protect is people.

Thanks…I will be blogging from London (the 4th-6th) and Kenya (6th-12th) on here to keep you up on what is going on. So, check back every couple of days.

Thanks so much.

Sean
