Miranda (13) had her birthday party at a hotel this weekend with some friends, so I had the privilege of hanging with my boys. Last night we went to Casa Bonita, a Denver highlight. Not the best food in the world, but definitely a fun place to visit with wide-eyed and excitable little men. The only restaurant that I have ever been in that has cliff divers (the place is large enough to have a three story cliff and waterfall).

This morning after they cleaned the room (sometimes you have to bribe them with incentives), we went to see a movie.

Throughout the weekend, it was fun to be with them. It was fun to do special things for them (tokens for the arcade last night, pop and candy at the movie). It reminded me of how much God must enjoy just being with us. He loves it when we take time out of our day to recognize His presence. When we slow down enough to notice the blessings his is providing. Just like my father’s heart enjoys doing daddy things, God’s heart does as well.

He loves being around you and me…and he loves providing the little surprises in our day that make us smile. He is an awesome dad.
